  3. Apply the mixture to the hair making sure to coat every hair strand. Cover your hair and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  4. Rinse with water. Shampoo and condition your hair as usual.

  1. In a blender, mix together 1 ripe avocado,1 tbsp argan oil, 1  tbsp honey and ⅛ cup of almond milk. Blend to a smooth consistency.
  2. Apply the mixture to your hair and cover with a shower cap. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  3. Rinse with water. Shampoo and condition your hair as usual.

 

For more readily available ingredients in the market, you can substitute argan oil with olive oil. You can also substitute coconut oil with almond milk. This hair mask is a good combo for dry hair. Avocado contains fatty acids that moisturize the hair, while honey is a humectant that seals the hair cuticles preventing mositure loss. Olive oil works best for coarser and thicker hair while argan oil works best for thinner and finer hair.

 

Aloe Vera and Avocado cleansing and moisturizing hair mask

  1. Mix together in a blender 1 ripe avocado, 2 tbsp aloe vera gel, 2 tbsp honey, 1 ½ tsp lemon juice and 2 tsp coconut oil. Mix until the mixture is smooth and thick. 
  2. Massage your hair and scalp gently but thoroughly with this mixture. Once every strand is coated, cover your head with a shower cap and leave for 15 to 30 minutes. 
  3. Rinse with water. Shampoo and condition your hair as usual.

 

Aloe vera is a natural cleanser that can remove dead skin cells on the scalp. Combine with the anti-inflammatory properties of avocado, this hair mask will leave your hair and scalp squeaky clean.

  1. Combine equal parts of avocado oil and extra virgin coconut oil in a jar.
  2. In a bowl of boiling water, heat the oil mixture to remove any clumps of oil. Before applying the heated oil to the scalp, check the temperature to prevent burns.
  3. Gently massage the oil onto the hair. Once the hair is thoroughly covered in oil, wrap it with a warm towel for up to 20 minutes.
  4. Rinse well.
